My suggestion is to sell now, take the money and run. You can get the same house for a fraction of the CA price elsewhere.

Of course, you might end up like my sister-in-law, who sold their house in Concord, came to Missouri, had a nice house built, moved their belongings in and went back to CA to clear up some details.

When they returned to MO, someone had robbed their new house and burned it down.

Then the insurance tried to say THEY did it so the insurance could avoid paying the claim.
