check out the punch line:

"Seismic experts say a quake this size thumps the area every 150 years -- and the last one occurred 151 years ago."

I wish "experts" would quit juxtaposing numbers like that to exaggerate the odds of an earthquake coming soon. The odds remain about 1/150 every year.

This also suggests unwarranted hype:

" The weeklong exercise involving emergency personnel, law enforcement, industry and others is predicated on surviving the aftermath of a 7.8 temblor along the San Andreas fault."

The vast majority of Angelenos are expected to survive an M7.8.
