Now to be real blunt. I think you are a leech. You are using Jim Berklands noteriety to further your own goals. You are using Jim and I think that's wrong. I don't know what kind of agreement there is between you two re the book, but I can't imagine Jim being at all happy with how things have turned out. The book is being sold on his name and it barely talks about him.

Brian,
You're testing my patience. The book is categorized as Science/Biography. Look at the back of it on the bottom. I purposely wrote the book as a self-help guide so people can do what Berkland does. I interviewed dozens and dozens of people to back up Berkland's eq prediction theories. In one chapter, I chose to interview "High Science" who doesn't agree with him. Berkland did not want another article-type book with folks against him.

I have known Berkland for more than 20 yrs. and have written about him in several national mags. He loves the publicity and so do I. However, I prefer to be at home behind the limelight. Also, Berkland asked me to write his book 20 yrs. ago after Loma Prieta. I flaked. This time around, I came to him. I was ready to do it. It got more interesting after 2004 Dec. 26, March sequel in 2005, and the CA quakes in June of 2005. We're both still waiting for the SoCA desert shaker.

Also, I believe in his eq prediction theories because they have worked for me. Every chapter discusses Berkland--I made a point to make him the FOCUS. But I also included info (i.e., preparedness tips, info how his seismic windows can and do work worldwide despite he only predicts in four area each month).
I landed us a great gig on the National Geographic Channel -- to air in the near future. I have busted my butt getting us author signings. I did write the book and it was a challenge. Also, I'm sure my writing didn't hurt the fact that my publisher sold foreign rights to a publisher in another county.
Brian, I have worked like a dog to move this book. How dare you say such a thing.
We have been on many radio shows where I'm treated like nobody--and I wrote the book. But we have also been on TV and done dozens of signings (AUHOR signings, Brian) where we complement each other.
You are clueless to this matter. Berkland is happy with the way I wrote the book and said so on his site and in his newsletter. You are in territory that you do not belong.
Callie

P.S. I never knew I had eq sensitive traits as much as I do until I wrote the book and interviewed people. I fell into this Brian. However, yesterday I watched the tape of both of us on a TV station in Palmdale. I discussed my teleplay I wrote 20 yrs ago in college. It was called "Palmdale Projection." It's in the book Brian. Please stop talking about me. Let it go and find some other topic.
