Wow, I think it is great that you did not reply that this has already been researched. That leads me to believe that it at least deserves discussion.

You state that the cause of earthquakes is not incorrect (as presented by science today.) But if it is so well known what causes them, they should dang well be able to predict them a little better. Don't you think? (figure out how much a plate should move and alert areas that do not move as much as expected)

Maybe the light emitted by earthquakes is not lightning, but that does not say anything about the relationship of earthquakes and lightning. It would be interesting to see how your Dr. John Derr determined that the light was caused by breaking of quartz containing layers containing piezoelectric energy. Wouldn't he have to have some kind of sensor in an area that an actual event ocurred? If so, how did he know where to put the sensor??

Is quartz common all over the place? I saw these lights in Taiwan and it looked a lot like lightning.

Like I said, I don't say this is related, but it certainly seems to indicate that we have not investigated all possibilities. Please keep an open mind.
