California quiet |
The California-Nevada map shows California, especially southern California, very quiet the last 24 hours or more (very few blue squares). Don't know if this is real or the networks are not reporting to the web page very well. A couple of years ago we discussed here (on this page) more extended quiet periods in California...and generally nothing much happened as activity resumed (no big quake). But, with the posts about activity before Loma Prieta then quiet then quake, might as well mention it. Canie said something about southern San Jacinto...and did not explain....I thought northern San Jacinto and west of there was rather active with diffuse seismicity the last few weeks.
