Thank you DIB for your comments. Since you appear to be an expert on the
physics of solar-terrestrial interactions, solar and geomagnetic storms and
earthquake physics, your comments are particularly welcome. The insight of
expert knowledge is not something anyone can afford to ignore.
The possibility of spurious data correlations always exists in any hypothesis. There
are many correlations which occur which are quite meaningless, as you know. There are
also some which need to be investigated more thoroughly before they are tossed or
accepted.
Of course, the only way to test any hypothesis, as we all learned early in our
education, is to make predictions which can be tested. That is what this board
is all about, and I will continue to make testable predictions. Only time will tell
if these predictions/forecasts turn out to be correct, but there is no way to know
unless they are made.
If you also have testable predictions/forecasts or hypotheses, I believe every
member of this board would welcome your expertise and examine your hypotheses
as carefully as you have others.
I need not remind all postersthat the success of this board relies on our mutual
respect for one another. I do not believe that criticism aimed at a person should be
tolerated on this board, but remarks critical of an idea or hypothesis, if they can be substantiated are always welcome.
