Since a number of people believe that the sun-moon angle has something to do with earthquakes I'd like to propose a test.

I've looked at sun-moon angle vs number of quakes before and found no preferred angle(s) but this leaves open the question of locations. Specifically, do some locations respond to different angles such that lumping them all together causes the patterns to average out?

I'm thinking of sorting out all the mag 7+ quakes into 10 degree lat/lon boxes and checking the sun-moon angle for each box.

Does anyone have a better idea or does anyone think this would not be a satisfactory test?
