There's an entire literature of people comparing the times of earthquake occurrence to the tides, tidal stresses, positions of the sun and moon in the sky, etc..

Some ideas have been thoroughly checked, re-checked, and checked again. If tides have ANY influence, it is tiny, and of little use for hazard mitigation.
