The oldest high-resolution climate core

This morning we took one core about 3 1/2 m-long. This is for now the oldest record of high-resolution climate ever taken in the world. It is a little older than the 700,000 year-old core we took nearby in 2005. We hope to extend the climate record back before 1 million years on this cruise, but don't know yet how good that record will be. The core/paleo/climate people include Jim Kennett and Rick Behl and a gang of others on this ship.
