Congratulations Don!

Don's prediction posted on June 27, 2005 (post # 26651) called for an earthquake in the Campbell, CA area within 35 km of 37.293N 121.935W to occur between July 1 and July 6, 2005.

There was an earthquake of magnitude 2.9 east of Alum Rock, CA within about 25 km (15 miles) of Campbell and was felt in Campbell tonight (early July 5 UT,
late July 4 local time). Now, before anyone claims this happens all the time, data is needed to counter these false claims. The last earthquake within 35 km of the predicted epicenter of magnitude 2.6-3.9 occurred more than two months ago with M 2.8 on April 27, 2005. Today's event is the strongest earthquake in the region (37-37.6N 121.5-122.5W) since an M 3.2 nearly five months ago on Feb. 17, 2005 in the Morgan Hill area according to data from the Advanced National Seismic System (ANSS). To me, this seems to be a rather spectacular prediction even if the quake was not damaging.
