I didn't learn about "b value" on the web. Its in Bruce Bolts book, "Earthquakes" and about 10 or so abstracts from the AGU abstract book.

If you don't have Bolt's book, I'd like to recommend it. He covers a lot of territory in there and its quite interesting. However, the above question wasn't answered in the book. I thought of writing him and he's good about answering, however, today I thought I'd see if anyone here already knew the answer.

If we come up dry, I'll write him.
