Cathryn, What kind of cell? Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic? One has a nucleous and the other does not. Ofcourse you know all mitocondrial dna is maternal in lineage. There are numerous organelles in each. We are eukaryotic. Pond scum is prokaryotic.
