not my specialty, but my impression is that crustal microplates are 3-D, with thrust and normal faulting as well as strike-slip faulting, so reconstructing their motion (1) takes more knowledge of the shape of each microplate than we have, and (2) takes more complicated software than just tracking Euler poles.
