Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells |
Hello Russell, I would describe a reactive quake as an extension of a larger strain pattern taking place along the plate boundary. The SAF has been a bit active to the north. At the linked map, you can see a small group of quakes just to the west of the Salton Sea. There are 5 of them now. These small quakes are all 5 Km or deeper, meaning they are in the basement complex of the Salton trough. This area "seems" to respond to higher seismicity levels in central California. I have seen the area react before. If I see enough of these, then I will do a full on analysis of it. Again, this is hypothetical at this point. But I must test it. Hope there is room on this forum for this kind of work. Critical comments always appreciated. glen Follow Ups: ● Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells - Mike Williams in Arroyo Grande 05:43:51 - 4/12/2006 (36299) (1) ● Conjunctive Quake - glen 10:31:42 - 4/12/2006 (36303) (0) ● Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells - Russell 12:01:30 - 4/9/2006 (36126) (1) ● Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells - Russell 18:24:17 - 4/11/2006 (36296) (1) ● Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells - glen 23:51:07 - 4/11/2006 (36298) (1) ● Re: Coyote Creek, Ocotillo Wells - Russell 08:26:47 - 4/12/2006 (36300) (1) ● Euler Poles?
