Re: Regarding ear tone data

Hello EDG,

I believe you forgot your manners. Did it ever occur to you to ask if it was alright to use the ear tone data stored here? Its a lot more palatable when one asks instead and stating they are taking data.

I am unsure if you are aware or not, but some scientists have already tried using ear tone research with individuals and they found it didn't work well enough so they gave up.

But as to your method, well its good to have some new approach, I'll grant you that, but we have to look at what the scientific community already has at their disposal and its rather vast. I think we should give them some credit for what they've accomplished in the last twenty five years. And we should be thankful that they are willing to share the data they receive with all of us. If it wasn't for that data we'd have no sources to work on what we do.

From the above we have to understand why scientists are secretive about their projects. You never know who's going to want to borrow their material and put it to their own personal use.

If and when you approach a scientist about your program I hope you'll be careful not to slap them in the face in the process.

Petra
