I'm so sorry you had to endure all that. It sounds horrible. No matter how prepared you think you are, I'm sure no one is prepared for what you went through.

I lived for several years as a child in the Valley (Sherman Oaks). I have always found it spooky at night. I don't know why, but I still get creeped out when I am there. It feels very much like a sleeping giant. I guess that's what it was before both the Sylmar quake and the one in Northridge.

When did the 7.4 in Ferndale take place? I'm thinking the early '80s but that might be wrong.
