Re: Missed Opportunities With Failure To Predict

In my old job back in the 70's, if I had been wrong a lot of lives would have been lost as well. I used to be an Air Traffic Controller before I got into programming.

So it would appear that you and I are somewhat in agreement as to what is a wrong prediction though, according to current sentiment in scientific circles, that prediction would have been technically a miss.

I guess the question is: by trying to have pinpoint accuracy at the get go, are we trying to run before we can walk?

My position on this whole thing is that we are trying to show that something may be related to earthquakes. Not that the method is perfect to begin with. That perfection would come at a later time through a rigourous study of that method with better instruments (or the developement of new instruments), etc., that would find ways to improve on that process.

But for now, lets just try and show that some methodology/symptom/or whatever is related to earthquakes.
