Proposed New Bulletin Board– December 27, 2012

That new bulletin board CGI program is running really nicely on my PC now that the worst part of the programming is over. And adding new features is really easy.

As I said in that first post on this subject, the new code will likely be available for the EarthWaves board if anyone is interested. So, if people want to propose that this or that feature should be added then they can post a note here about it.

One that is already running is a simpler option for entering Name, Password, and Subject. They can now be added the regular way or on a single line with a “/” both before and after the password.

User Name /Password/ Subject

Robert B./12A34b56c*78/Earthquake Clouds

A board poster’s message goes into a large rectangle area as usual.

The demo at my Web site shows roughly what the new board will look like to start with.

The only thing stored on my Internet Server will be a list containing passwords that I will store there myself. There won’t be any information on the Internet Server regarding a board poster's identity, E-mail address, or location.

So, if someone were to select “Let Me In” for a password and I approved it (not likely), then some other person could probably easily guess that the password exists and start using it to post notes.

Passwords will have to be a little more difficult to guess than that one.

Another feature to be added will relate to html and picture files.

If addresses such as

http://www.google.com/index.html

http://www.google.com/images/picture.png

are entered in the Message area the program will recognize that they are html code and automatically convert them to a formatted link that will display in the Message area.

On another note,

A very strong EM Signal was detected at 2012/12/25 06:26:00 UTC. And I have been circulating an Earthquake Warning with Central America being the most likely location.

A volcano just started acting up in Nicaragua at around the latitude expected and a little to the east of the highest probability longitude. It might have had something to do with that Christmas Day signal.

These are personal opinions.
