Hi all. Many of you know me, so all I will say is that I work at the National Geophysical Data Center in Boulder, Colorado on seismicity and earthquake-related issues and data. I have enjoyed reading your back-and-forth on issues related to seismicity and earthquake forecasting and prediction for some time, but the occasion has not previously come up that I thought my two cents would be worthwhile.

In regard to an independent agency to accept, record and make available earthquake forecasts from the general public, the National Geophysical Data Center has been doing this for many years. As part of our role in hazard mitigation, we maintain both a prediction data base and a very complete seismicity catalog. If anyone wishes to make a verifiable prediction, we would be happy to receive it, record it, and if necessary verify it as an independent agency.
