A number of points:

1) I must apologise for misunderstanding you earlier; I though you were arguing that earthquakes were caused by lightning; now I see your position is the precise reverse. But it makes no difference, since the spatial distribution of earthquakes is very marked and shows no relation to any climatic variables. Lightning is atmospheric; earthquakes occur deep in the earth's crust.

2) Discussion of weather and earthquakes tends to be anecdotal and seldom statistical. What hard evidence there is (and there isn't much) suggests that earthquakes are more common in bad weather. In Britain there are quite a number of cases of earthquakes and storms co-inciding.

3) I can't really comment much on your technical page as I'm not a physicist. The animal behaviour idea is touched on only in passing.

4) However, I'm coming round to the opinion that the evidence for preseismic and coseismic geoelectrical phenomena is inescapable, and this could well provide an explanation for anomalous animal behaviour. The idea that animals are picking up tremors that humans can't feel always struck me as unlikely, since seismometers are much more sensitive than animals. If animals are reacting to something, it's something that humans aren't measuring.
