Censored and Offended? |
First, we have postings politely, and humorously, pointing out the spelling, grammar and punctuation errors that are ubiquitous on this forum. But now we have a post whining about the inability to use offensive language. It makes me wonder -- haven't some of you ever heard of Webster, Roget, or Strunk & White? I'm with Cathryn -- the misuse or misspelling of words drives me up a wall! I, too, shout at my computer. A typo is one thing, but the same misspelling over and over is not due to typos; e.g., the word is GLEAN, not GLEAM. Maybe that's a right-brain, left-brain thing...I don't know. But it's a no-brain thing if you can't come up with a synonym in lieu of using an offensive word. You seem like a smart guy, Brian -- I'm sure you can express yourself in a more appropriate, socially acceptable manner. It's not a matter of having to use so-called "politically correct" language. It's simply a matter of being courteous, polite, civil, well-mannered, gentlemanly, etc. Brian, this is a public forum. Let's keep it respectable. I, for one, glad that you were censored.
