Most vocabulary doesn't offend me, but I read online bulletin boards for information and ideas, and if a post looks like its author used expletives or profanity to substitute for facts while trying to make a point, I skip to other messages.

Regarding spelling & grammar: during college (before personal computers) I worked in an office where one responsibility was typing professors' journal submissions, sometimes from handwritten originals. I could read and type fast and usually accurately but never could concentrate on the content of a paper while proofreading its spelling, grammar, typos and journal format. To me, this board resembles conversation more than a technical journal, so I ignore errors.
