Roger sent me the output file and a graph. It seems pretty clear, as Roger suggested, that something pretty significant is going on. Some of Lowell's distances (FFA distances) are not present, but several are, and very strongly-although some are shifted by a degree or so (not significant in my book, but curious). I really should go over parts of Lowell's thesis again carefully-but I'm not getting done what I am paid for, so really have to spend most of my time on that.... So, what is next? John, are you able to run Roger's program? For those not following this closely-what we are looking at is evidence that earthquakes can be triggered by other earthquakes entirely across the globe, preferentially at particular distances. This was in the Ph.D thesis of Lowell Whiteside (1999, U of Colorado), but we really needed to look at this independently-its just how we work.....
