following on John's caution

I emailed Roger that his program will not run on my computer without a missing file. But, in the mean time, some thoughts following John's caution: What is a M8 EQ triggers another large earthquake (M7+) within 2 weeks, but at no particular angular distance. Then, the large number of M5+ aftershocks would show up as a large peak in distance-even after taking into account the cumulative effect of 27 M8s...only some of these would be followed by M7+ quakes, so there would be fewer than 27 large peaks. I guess I could just looks at the files Roger sent and see if this is where the peaks are coming from-it would take some time for me to look this over-better clean my home office first. Also, if I start looking at other intervals beyond 14 days, and see different peaks, as Roger suggests, and these peaks are as large or almost as large, then it starts to look like a random process. But, if 102 deg keeps showing up for different time intervals, or I can see that the contributors to the peaks come from different areas and not many aftershocks from one area, then it starts to look interesting again....Chris
"There were 47036 quakes in the file.
There were 27 main quakes.
There were 2389 subsequent quakes within 14 days."
