Just logged on and saw the quake. Note that it was preceded by and followed by other M6+ quakes in other parts of the Pacific region. This also happened a week or so ago and I commented on it. I'm aware of statistically meaningless random events that appear to cluster, but these are a bit striking. I'm trained to recognize patterns (interpretation of seismic reflection) so may be seeing something that is not there. It needs a Roger analysis: a year (or something) ago Roger looked into my suggestion that there was a tendancy for M6+ Pacific quakes to cluster (to have 2 the same day)and his result showed it was not significant/not real. But, might it be worth looking at again? There is no focal mechanism on the NEIC/USGS site and no link to tsunami center....kind of lame.
