Historical Bay Area Tremors-A LOT!!! |
When looking at this link you can access personal observations of quakes in SF through the 1800s leading up to the 1906 quake. Notice that a noticable to substantial quake that broke windows was striking San Francisco every other month every single year for the 70 years or so leading up to 06. What do you guys think? It just seems excessive. The bay area definetly has not reved up to the pre 1906 levels after reading this. One observer even writes, "earthquakes are even becoming fashionable in these parts of Uncle Sam's dominians" Also notice under the 1906 report that LA experienced a moderate quake of its own on April 18th. Could it have been triggered? Anyway enjoy...
