Re: Jane...tornadoes-Long report |
Chris, so far so good tornado wise here. We have 20 acres or so of corn under water. Lost the wheat crop to the April freeze. But we talked to friends out in Barton Co, KS and they had almost to 14 inches of rain in the last 30 hours. They had tornadoes go over the top of their house both Friday and Sat. nights and have about 500 acres of hay and corn ground under water. Greensburg is getting all the national play, but there are a number of communities out in central Kansas hurt. Tonight the worry is flash flooding here and in SEK where the sibs are it's tornado time. It has been in the 60s here in NEK and 85 down south the kind of contrast you really don't want after the last three nights. Hope you keep safe. Have you got a weather radio? And don't drive into flood water. I don't know how many rescues were done this morning because people insist on driving into water.
