Re: 5.0 N. Cal on April 18 - Opinions? |
Today's 5.0 in the first Magnitude 5 earthquake in California since the 5.1M at Obsidian Butte on September 2, 2005, a little over a year and a half ago. California averages 6.8 earthquakes of Magnitude 5 (or greater) a year according to UC Berkeley Seismo. Lab's website: http://seismo.berkeley.edu/seismo/faq/rate_of_seism.html Maybe this is the start of a catch-up period? Barbara
