Perl lets you send information to the operating system as if you typed the command in yourself from the keyboard. It can also respond directly to keyboard entries. When I looked at the XBasic command list I didn't see anything there which looked like it could do both of those things. And they are necessary for my programs. Perhaps it can. I just didn't see any commands like that myself.

I would definitely like to use a computer language which was easier to understand and work with than Perl. And XBasic does appear to be easier to understand and work with.
