Northridge |
Hi Cal, Northridge was a long lasting quake. What got me was the cockateel screeching and falling from its perch over 30 seconds before we felt anything. Because I was witness to that, I still think animals sense better than we humans. Northridge hit early in the morning, and we felt that stronger than Landers. In fact the Big Bear quake after Landers hit harder than Landers, because it was closer. I did not feel Hector Mine because I was driving at the time and did not notice it. Northridge was a blind thrust, according to my studies. I am not sure about Loma Prieta. There is so much data on these things, that I have restricted my study down here near the San Jacinto. There are a lot of people who know more than I do about that area up there. My favorite areas are the Laguna Salada, Yuha Wells, and the southern portion of Coyote Creek segment of the San Jacinto, and the Salton Trough. A whole life time of info here. And I love it.
