Loma Prieta question for scientists

Last time I heard anything about the focal mechanism of Loma Prieta, I heard it was a slip strike with a thrust component. And that it may or may not have been on the San Andreas.

I'd love for some scientists here to weigh in on this question? Is there a definitive answer?
