Here I would like to mention that Shan CHANGED that prediction from 8M to 5M before the quake occurred. At the time, to his credit, John Vidale was the only one who emphasized that.

So at the time of the quake, Shan's prediction was for a 5M quake. If you consider his earlier, cancelled prediction still active, then he made two predictions, not one.

I've carefully watched his website for over a year. He allows himself the freedom to change predictions, and as his current post demonstrates, he will select whichever of the predictions (cancelled or not) can be consider hits.
