Sometime I wonder if I should bite the bullet and setup a PHP > MYSQL prediction database and host it from my garage...

Only problem is it'd tie up my DSL line...

Very easy to do really...kid you not...

Would have input box for...

1. Date entered...
2. Window date range...(limited to 3 days before and 3 days after central date)
3. Magnitude range...(at least 3.5M)
4. Center and radius...(set a radius limit in miles/km) (Maybe two types - global and regional?)
5. Info multi-line box stating reason for prediction...(i.e., what is being observed/measured/tracked that lead ones to think that a significant (somewhat greater than chance) event is about to occur.

Scoring:

1. Event inside = hit.
2. Event outside = miss.
3. No event inside = miss.
4. No event outside = NA

I'm of the mind that coming up with a worthy prediction tool means that you are trying to nail down conditions WHEN THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR and at the same time implying the conditions WHEN THEY ARE LESS LIKELY TO OCCUR hence the "miss" for a hit outside and NON-APPLICABILTIY for no events outside.
