Before anyone called this a million-to-one shot, I pointed out that his prediction was missing critical pieces necessary for a rigorous assessment. Still, it's impressively close. Another pre-emptive shot is that the position of the Sun relative to the Earth is not something Shan can measure well, nor would the local tilt near his house in India matter. So if he is interpreting the position of a shadow, he will have to think hard how it might conceivably relate to impending earthquakes.
