Cathryn, I am disappointed in you. Picture this situation:

Say that you are a mom living in earthquake country. And you have 3 children who are in elementary and high school. A powerful earthquake occurs in your area and you see on the news that the elementary school that 2 of your children are attending has partially collapsed. And the news crews are doing live coverage of the rescue efforts.

At that time, what are your thoughts? Would you prefer that scientists who were convinced that they knew what they are doing along earthquake forecasting lines would get out there and fight to see that this technology was moved forward as quickly as possible regardless of how many arguments there were? Or would you prefer that all scientists instead said that the most important thing was for everyone to get along and agree not to battle to save your children because peace and harmony are far more important?

I personally believe that at such a time most moms would say, “My children’s lives are at stake. So roll up your sleeves and start fighting. I will hold your overcoat for you.”
