Re: In Conclusion/Bishop to Benton Prediction |
Congratulations on the near miss. I do have to add that I think the odds high for that quake anyway (the 3.2) - you were going for a 3.5 in Benton but our ever active south-west of Tom's place had a 3.2 - 49.89km away from your starting point. (stated range: 40km) Maybe in or near these active area (geysers, san juan bautista, salton sea, mammoth) we should reduce the radius some - so that it isn't such an automatic hit. That was a 10 day window right? I'd think a pretty high probability for a 3 at mammoth area in 10 days. There was also a 3.3 down near Santa Maria in the window - and another 3.2 near Markleeville and a 3.1 about 12 km W of Covelo, CA and a 3.0 near the Geysers - in that same timeframe there were 7 >3 quakes down here in southern cal. and the window is still open for another 14 hrs or so. - at least 11 quakes over 3. that I could find during this window. Some of those 11 quakes may be the same distance ass the benton area - is it possible one of those other quakes better matched your ear tone?
