There was an X class flare very early on the 24th U.T., and about that time or a little later there was a M4.1 or so EQ in northern Canada, followed a few hours later by another about the same size in another part of northern Canada. Although my casual observations of the NOAA space weather and NEIC pages give me the impression that there have not been global flareups of EQs after big flares or strong geomagnetic storms (my humble opinion), there are occassional curious coincidences such as this one. Actually, the New York times magazine had an interesting article on coincidences 2 weeks ago last Sunday (15 days ago). Worthwhile reading for those who think they see patterns....
