The only station which was sub-solar at the time of this CME was the Texas station. There have been hints about this in the literature over the years. But papers which cross-pollinate data from space/meteorology/geologic physics are rare Here are a few you might look at though. Sorry for the age of these, it has been several years since I did a literature review in this subject. There may be a lot more since then. By the way, my purpose here is not to convince you or anyone else of anything, but merely to suggest possibilities. I am glad to see you are taking this possibility seriously as you have demonstrated an open mindedness which speaks well of your training. The only way to convince yourself (really) is to watch the seismograms when strong sudden commencement storms occur and see if a pattern develops. It is easy to suggest a pattern, but I am not in a position to publish or "prove" anything, that needs to be done by academics. I hope, however, that these observations is a starting place for someone to look more seriously into the matter now that data for examining this is readily available on the web. I have indicated references which directly address this question by --> There are some more recent that I have not yet found the references for, and will post as soon as I locate them. Boshi, E.
