One more shopping until ... - November 5, 2012

The U.S. Presidential Election is on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

So, there is just one day left for the candidates and others to have an impact on its outcome.

And there is just one more day for people who are interested in having any other type of impact on matters related to the election to get their work done.

With this election I myself never formally chose sides with regard to trying to influence which candidate should win. But I have spent a tremendous amount of time during the past year trying to get things done with regard to various issues during the election campaign.

Two important projects related to earthquakes will get moving again after the election. One of them involves expanding my personal forecasting program so that it can be used to display and compare more types of data such as forecasts data from other researchers.

One project worked on during the past few months that got absolutely nothing done was an effort to get a constitutional amendment on the books that would eliminate corporate contributions to election campaigns. There is a nonprofit group that is supposedly working on getting that done. I tried working with them. But they just “sat there.” No progress was made.

Another effort related to increasing certain types of safety matters here in the U.S. probably got carefully examined by various groups. But they didn’t take any action on it. I am going to try to get them to do that again after the election.

A proposed international disaster warning and response program report circulated after hurricane Sandy did not get much attention from anyone so far.

I circulated a report that discussed the details of a new energy source that should be liked by both environmental groups and the fossil fuel industry. So far there has not been any interest in it as far as I can tell.

Another matter looks like it might have gotten some attention. And I am still working on having people get interested in that one before the election.

It could be some type of impossible coincidence. But, it appeared that both of the presidential candidates were responding almost on a daily basis to information that I was circulating regarding the importance of developing new sources of energy. There were quite a few strong signs of that. One is the fact that on the day of the last presidential debate I circulated a report stating that neither presidential candidate, and no government on the planet has any real idea regarding how to actually develop new sources of energy. I provided some very convincing evidence that this is the case. And I stated that a special nonprofit foundation needs to be created so that the foundation can provide governments with the necessary plans for how to develop new energy sources. After that, both candidates completely stopped talking about the importance of developing new energy sources as far as I can tell.

After the election, work will get started on the creation of that special nonprofit foundation that could tell governments what they need to do to create new source of environmentally safe, affordable energy and also tell them how to get other important things done.

The initial effort for doing that work got underway long, long ago. And it is presently represented by a formal, legal entity here in the U.S. One of the first steps in that effort after the election will be expanding the capabilities of that already existing formal entity.

These are personal opinions.
