Hi Roger,

It is my opinion that for the following reason, the U.S. debt size should be irrelevant.

The U.S. has an extremely powerful economy. And we should actually be able to easily work our way out of any size debt. But the U.S. economy is like an automobile. It can have a really powerful engine. And you can tune it up so that it runs with a high efficiency. But you still need fuel in the gas tank or it won’t go anywhere no matter how well tuned it is.

The availability of affordable energy is in my opinion the fuel that our economy needs. But all our elected officials ever do to get us more affordable energy is talk about it. And, that is an opinion that I have recently stated repeatedly to various people and groups.

Perhaps we ignored a potentially invaluable energy source. If all of the hot air generated during the campaign that just ended had been used effectively there would probably have been enough energy available for everyone on the planet.

These are personal opinions.
