Strong EM Signal activity was detected earlier today. And an earthquake advisory is being circulated.

It will probably take a day or two to process the signal information and update this advisory and also update my forecasting charts with more details. Checks need to be run to see if the signals might have been associated with volcano activity rather than earthquake activity etc.

It should be remembered that one of the main purposes of these advisories and warnings is to provide other forecasters around the world with information that tells them that:

“Now is the time that you should check your local precursor data to see if there is anything significant looking.”

If strong signals can be detected for an earthquake that could be about to occur on the opposite side of the planet from where I live then there should be easily observed precursors in the area where the earthquake is actually going to occur.
