Earthquake Research January 22, 2011

There is presently so much activity taking place in the earthquake forecasting world that I myself am either directing or participating in, that is has become impossible to even post notes to keep people updated regarding all of those things.

One of the reasons I am able to work with so many people on all of these projects is because I myself am running a fully operational, complete forecasting program. And so I am able to provide advice or assistance to other people who are running just some part of a forecasting program.

My program involves the following among other things:

--- Collecting precursor data.

--- Processing data.

--- Evaluating the result.

--- Circulating formal and informal earthquake advisories and warnings through E-mail, Internet Bulletin Board, and Internet Newsgroup notices, and by telephone if necessary.

--- Publishing information on the Internet. That includes forecasting data, original research, and downloadable freeware earthquake forecasting computer software.

--- Getting hardcopy earthquake forecasting papers or books published.

--- Working with government officials and independent researchers to develop forecasting programs.

It has become difficult to keep my Data.html Web page updated with the latest forecast data because so many other earthquake related projects are underway at the present time.

Also,

It is my opinion that my forecasting program did an excellent job of pointing to the approach of the following recent powerful earthquake:

2011/01/18 20:23:26 28.83N 63.94E 84 7.2 Pakistan
NEIS Data

Had earthquake forecasters in Pakistan or elsewhere been using my freeware computer programs with just my own data they would have been able to tell when and along what longitude line the earthquake could occur. And if they were using the program with their own precursor data collected locally instead of using data collected in the U.S. they would probably have been able to do even better.

These are personal opinions.
