EARTHQUAKE FORECASTING SUCCESS June 15, 2010

The Charts on my Data.html Web page are intended to let earthquake researchers and forecasters and the general public know when they should be watching for significant seismic activity at different locations around the world. When there is a strong line peak at some longitude on one of the recent Time Window lines and no line peak at that longitude on earlier Time Window lines it means that some strong seismic activity might be about to occur in a fault zone along that longitude line.

Below is a copy of the Chart that was stored on my Data.html Web page on about June 13, 2010. There is a new Chart stored there now because it is important to keep that Web page current.
It can be easily seen that there is a strong line peak at 116 W. And as most people are aware, the following fairly powerful earthquake just occurred:

2010/06/15 04:26:58 32.69N 115.92W 7 5.7 Southern California
NEIS Data

Additionally, on June 6, 2010 I posted an Earthquake Advisory to the sci.geo.earthquakes Internet Newsgroup recommending that people watch areas identified on the Charts on my Data.html Web page.

So, as far as accurately pointing to the approach of significant seismic activity, my Data.html Web page Charts did exactly what they are intended to do.

And at this time, an important question is:

With all of the earthquake researchers in Southern California and around the world, why wasn’t that approaching earthquake positively identified long beforehand so that people could get ready for it?

Had it been a 7.7 or even a 6.7 magnitude earthquake it might have done a lot of damage!

My Archives Web page has been updated with information regarding that earthquake and also the April 4, 2010 earthquake in Mexico that preceded it.
