Just as a side note, my daughter and I passed through there two days ago on the way back from Yosemite. I never realized there was an 1872 quake there that wiped out the entire town. There's a historical landmark plaque on the 395 directing anyone interested to the graveyard where the victims of the 1872 quake are buried.

There seems to be a lot going on - globally - for all of this to be pure coincidence.
