AM I CRAZY? |
So....I got this idea and wanted to see if its doable, (I think it is). So today I went on the earthquake map and plotted the coordinates of a 2.5 in downtown LA to GOOGLE EARTH. ANd sure enough, it gave me the excact intersection for which this quake originated to which I could mark with a pin and chose the color of the pin to my liking. SO, then I got to thinking, hmmm, wouldnt' it be cool if I had access to every popcorn quake (I KNOW THOUSANDS) that happened since whenever and then plot them all? Is this insane? I Mean I think it would be so fascinating to see the map play out of the active stresses. Is there an internet file somewhere that lists a catalogu of all quakes by coordinates? Or is this just insanely crazy? ANyway I just thought it would be cool to see which areas have had ongoing activity. Anyone know of site that has a catalog? I know I've already thought "Do you have the time to sit there and plot thousands of points?" but for now I"m gung ho.
