Been there. Done that. I've written programs that plotted untold hundreds of thousands of quakes on a CA/NV map. Was pretty interesting looking. It's more fun, though, when you animate it to see patterns in time. Then even better, when you take depth into account and can rotate the space in 3D while it's animating.

My program wasn't pretty, but it worked. It's VERY cpu intensive. I need to learn how to use DirectX so I can let the video cad do all the work.
