John, I think I know what side you are on this from your other posts on this thread, but your post right above is very ambiguous. I could go on and on about benefits of combatting global warming (ocean currents, sudden climate change (meaning huge changes in one or 2 decades, Greenland Ice Sheet, maybe west Antarctic Ice sheet, shifts of climate belts). As for sudden climate change: that is a real bogeyman for the deniers. I work with some of the key people who came up with the evidence for sudden climate change and just about 3 days ago saw one of them present the record of huge changes in a couple decades: huge warmings. The earth can switch from state A to state B....
