I checked out several websites. Kilauea is erupting right now, and apparently the VOG (volcanic gases, etc.) are being emitted in variable amounts. They are recommending that all sensitive people avoid exposure.

It looks as if the Park is open---but they keep saying to check hourly with the park. It sounds as if nobody else really knows, or they expect things to change quickly. I did hear that some roads near the park were closed.

The USGS updates are also pretty fuzzy. I think that they haven't got a clear idea of what is likely to happen!
