That's funny Penny!

I was living in a Mobile home at the time - and boy do those things rock and roll! I was in the North Long Beach area, so not that close to Northridge, though we did suffer some masonry damage and a busted hot water pipe underneath where the 2 halves of the house joined..

The thing that most worried me was our brand new 32" Sony TV that cost about $1,000 was in our living room on a TV stand meant for a 20" TV! We had just bought it for Christmas - I rushed out to the front and it was still on it's stand - Whew.. went back to bed and rode out the aftershocks...

FEMA did give us the money to put in Earthquake bracing under the house, which we took advantage of.

Now we're in a two-story wood frame structure in Long Beach in the liquefaction area...(which is most of LB)
