Nope - nothing above us in bed - and that's on the second floor - and lots of things are bolted - the frame is also bolted to the foundation -

I don't really expect much action here - or at least on the Newport-Inglewood fault.. it doesn't seem to be building much strain.

I do worry about some computer animations of what could happen when the San Andreas lets loose - and things reverberate around the basin here...

We try to stay prepared - the hardest thing is rotating the food/water supplies - we also have water filters and a pact with neighbors for their swimming pool water!

A not so bad item I found for emergency food with a 2 year shelf life is from Hormel - and I'm sure some others are making similar items - are a selection of foods that are cooked, vacuum packed and just need boiling or microwave to heat up - I'm sure they can be eaten at room temperature even if there's no way to boil water.. I've put a link at the bottom to hormel's site with the product. They are edible for the most part..
